Cottonwood-based ENERGPARENTING.com is presenting a 3-session parenting seminar, "Energizing Success," 6 to 7:30 pm Tuesdays, Oct. 19, 26 and Nov. 2 at the Cottonwood Recreation Center, 150 S. 6th St., Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
Parents, educators and all adults raising, educating or relating to challenging children will learn a proven, positive way to help these children succeed at home, at school and in life.
Based on the world renowned Nurtured Heart Approach™ created by Tucson greatness consultant Howard Glasser, the seminar is designed to help children who are defiant, oppositional, unable to manage strong impulses/emotions, and those diagnosed with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, OCD, ODD or Autism. The simple approach is a 180-degree about face from conventional models because it teaches adults how to build strong relationships with challenging kids when things are going right.
The seminar will be taught by Cottonwood resident Susan McLeod, MA, a certified Nurtured Heart Approach™ parent coach personally trained by Howard Glasser. She is also the cofounder with Glasser of ENERGYPARENTING.com, the online learning center for the Nurtured Heart Approach™.
Cost for the seminar is $49 per person or $69 for any two. The seminar may qualify for 4 CEUs.
Childcare is available during the seminar: Children 5 to 17 can attend art class led by Verde Valley artist and art teacher Heather Hakola for a $5 supply fee.
