The Prescott Valley Arts and Culture Commission joyfully announces that applications for the Ninth Annual " Create-A-Tree" display are now available. Schools, community groups, businesses and individuals are invited to showcase their holiday spirit and artistic talent in the Create-A-Tree collection that will be located in the Prescott Valley Library. All entries must be made from non-flammable materials and are to be non-denominational in their presentation. Previous Create-A-Tree entries have been made out of buckets, shoes, picture frames, metal and even a ladder or two! It's a fun and festive way to test one's creativity to clever design.
Community members are encouraged to cast their vote for what tree they believe to be best in show. The tree's creator receiving the most votes will be presented with the annual "People's Choice Award". The Create-A-Tree collection will be available for public viewing at the Prescott Valley Public Library starting December 3rd until January 4th during regular operating hours Tuesday through Saturday.
Create-A-Tree is also held in conjunction with the annual Festival of Lights Parade and Civic Center Lighting Ceremony at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3 rd. Immediately following the lighting ceremony and parade, Santa will be joining us on the 1 st floor of the Civic Center so that all may share their holiday wishes and capture a photo or two with the jolly fellow.
