The City of Cottonwood is accepting applications for the city's Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioners are appointed by the city council to service a three (3) year term. These are volunteer positions; commissioners serve without pay.
The commission acts in an advisory/support capacity to the city council and the Community Services GM. The commission also assists in the establishment of general priorities and budget items relating to parks development, recreation programs, park land acquisition and capital improvements.
If you are a Cottonwood resident living within city limits, and are interested in serving your community as a member of the commission, please consider volunteering for this commission. Commission/board member applications are available at the Human Resources Office, 816 N. Main St., or by calling 634-0060, ext. 234, or on-line. Completed applications should be returned to 816 N. Main St., and must be received no later than 3:00 PM on November 23, 2010.

Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings at Mayer Area Meals on Wheels (behind the Fire Station in Mayer, AZ) starting at 11:30 a.m. Serving will be the Lonesome Valley Wrangler 4-H group. The price is $5.00. There will be a crazy silent auction with items easily affordable that would make nice Christmas gifts.
