Event Title: Yavapai Library Gaming Day
Tuesday, December 21, 2010
|
|
Game on! On Tuesday, December 21, public libraries all over Yavapai County will celebrate the fun and educational value of games with the first annual Yavapai Library Gaming Day. Inspired by the American Library Association's National Gaming Day, libraries from Cottonwood to Yarnell will offer a variety of games and fun for the whole family.
Gaming may not seem like a traditional library activity, but playing games builds literacy skills. Almost every kind of game requires reading instructions and learning new vocabulary. Games also require critical thinking and problem solving, and encourage positive social interaction.
Contact your local library for information about the Library Gaming Day events near you.
